Study Participation
Our Lab is currently recruiting participants for a variety of studies on speech and language development. From newborns to adults, we invite you to be a part of our important research. Participating in our studies is easy and enjoyable. Most sessions take place in our well-equipped, child-friendly laboratory. We use a variety of engaging, non-invasive methods to collect data. If you are interested in contributing to this important research, please review the descriptions of the ongoing studies below.
嬰兒聽覺訊息處理研究
研究顯示早期語言發展與兒童心理健康、學業成就及日後就業有密切關係，對個人及社會均有長遠影響。本研究團隊近年致力爲學習中文的幼兒研發一套預測性模型，以瞭解孩子神經系統對聲音的反應與他/她將來語言發展的關係。本計劃目的爲收集更多數據以進一步改善模型準確度、擴展至預測其他中文語言發展，及研究於不同場所收集腦電圖數據的可能性。
* 腦電圖實驗：腦電圖掃描是一種安全、非侵入性、無輻射、無痛楚的腦電波記錄。我們會放一些小小的電極及塗抹凝膠在嬰兒的頭上，用醫用膠帶固定，利用電腦儀器記錄參加者大腦的腦電波對不同聲音的腦電波反應。此實驗與標準醫學自動聽性腦幹反應測驗（即初生嬰兒聽力普查測驗）相似，參加者亦不會感到電流或痛楚。
